All editorial content — verse notes, prayers, and blog articles — is written by Daniel Whitfield, the site's founder and editor. Drafts may be assisted by AI tools for structure and clarity, but every published word is reviewed, edited, and fact-checked by a person before it goes live. Bible texts themselves are reproduced verbatim from public-domain sources and are never paraphrased inside quotation marks.

Our stance on randomness

This site occupies a careful middle position, and we state it openly: a randomly drawn verse is a devotional prompt, not divine direction. We do not present the generator as a way to receive decisions from God, and our content will never encourage treating Scripture as a lottery or an answer machine. Where the historic practice of random Bible opening is discussed, we present both its long tradition and the legitimate criticisms of it.

Accuracy standards

  • Verse texts are machine-pulled from public-domain datasets at build time, never hand-typed.
  • References (book, chapter, verse) are validated against the source data automatically.
  • Notes state the verse's plain sense and flag, where needed, that fuller context matters.
  • Claims about the site's own mechanics (pool size, no-repeat behavior, translations used) are written to match the actual code and data.

Corrections

Errors in verse text, references, or factual claims are corrected as soon as they are confirmed, and the affected page's "Last verified" date is updated. Report anything to contact@getrandombibleverse.com or through the contact form.

Independence and monetization

The site is independently owned and carries no sponsorships, affiliate links, or paid placements. If display advertising is introduced in the future, it will be visually separated from content and will never influence which verses are included or what our notes say.
