Get Random Bible Verse serves one passage at a time from a curated pool instead of drawing uniformly from every line in the Bible. It also offers date-based, topic, mood, book, chapter, batch and image-card paths. No account is required for the current reading tools.
How the verse pool is curated
The current data file contains 305 passages. Each record includes public-domain translation text, tags, a short site-authored note and a prayer. The tags drive the topic and mood filters; they are editorial classifications, not psychological assessments. The documented selection rules and known limits are on the methodology page.
Product boundaries
These boundaries describe the product rather than an unverified author biography:
- Random is a doorway, not an oracle. This site will never suggest that a randomly drawn verse is God's verdict on your decision. Scripture is not a lottery ticket.
- Context is the destination. Every verse includes the surrounding passage one tap away, because verses mean what they mean where they stand.
- Quiet is a feature. No pop-ups, no streaks, no gamification. The design is meant to lower your heart rate, not raise your engagement metrics.
- Free means free. All three translations here (KJV, WEB, ASV) are public domain, and every feature is free without an account.
